Pitru Shradh Puja is known as an important day to pay respect and remembrance to the departed ancestors & is performed in Uttarkashi. Through this vidhi devotees get blessings from their forefathers, also the ancestors get peace and moksha. In Pitru Shradh devotees offer some food, water, and also their favourite items.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then Pujari ji starts chanting of mantras and prayers to invoke Lord Vishnu. Then offering of some food and water is done to the ancestors. At last, this ritual is completed with the prayers and then the blessings of the ancestors of the devotees are taken.
