Atharvashirsha is a sanskrit word and this word is combination of two words Athrva is associated with Atharva veda and Shirsha means head. Ganesh Atharvashirsha is dedicated to Lord Ganesh. Ganesh Atharvashirsha is a part of Atharv veda. It is beleived that the Atharvashirsha is written by sage Athrva.
At first sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Than invoking of Lord Ganesh is done with help mantras and prayer by the pujari. Than panditji recites Athrvashirsha path 1000 times. At last arti of Lord Ganesh is done and blessings are taken by the devotees.
