The Sanskrit word "Tarpan" means "fulfilling" or "satisfying." During this vidhi , mantras and prayers are chanted by the Pandit ji And Pind Daan in Porbandar' is a ritual performed by offering food and water to the ancestors or the soul. This ritual is mostly performed on Pitru Paksha or death anniversary. Tarpan Puja also involves offering water to the ancestors. It is also considered a daily ritual performed by many people to satisfy the thirst of the departed soul and seek their blessing.
Pind daan is done after taking a bath. It is required to wear white holy clothes during shradh karma like traditional dhotis, kurta, etc. Pind daan is done by offering rice, jaggery, sweets, etc under the guidance and mantras of Brahmins.
