Durga saptashati is also known as Chandi path. Durga Saptashati is a Hindu scripture with 700 Shlokas. The word Saptashai is a combination of two words: "Sapta" means seven and "shata" means hundred. The Durga Saptashati tells the story of the battle between Goddess Durga and Demon Mahishasura. During the puja various mantras and Jaap are chanted, and Goddess Durga is worshipped. Performing this puja in Tuljapur is beneficial.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotee. Then invoking of Goddess Durga is done with the help of mantras and prayers by the pujari. Then reading of the Durga Saptashati path is started by the pujariji. After the completion of the path aarti of Goodess Durga is done by the pujari ji and the blessings of the Goddess is taken by the devottees.
