Goddess Lakshmi is known as the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and fortune. Lord Ganesh is known as Vignaharta (the one who removes the hurdles). It is believed that worshipping Lord Ganesh helps in removing obstacles, clearing the path for blessings of Goddess Lakshmi's blessings to flow.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then invoking both Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi is done by the pujariji with the help of prayers and by also following of vedic rituals. Then 108 Atharva Vasisth path is done by the pujariji and along with it offering of 108 laddu's is done. After that, the hawan is started by the pujariji. At last, the blessings are taken and the puja is completed.
