"Akhand Jyot" refers to the continuous burning of a lamp or a flame in front of a deity or a sacred space. The Akhand Jyot is considered auspicious and is believed to symbolize the eternal presence of the divine.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then lighting of the Akhand Jyot is done by the pujariji in front of Lord Ganesh.
